HISTORY

 

Formed in 1865 from what was once a Drum and Fife Band.

 

The band's first instruments were purchased for the princely sum of £200. The money was raised by public subscription and included a donation from the Duke of Devonshire.

1992 - The band qualify from the Midlands Area 4th Section to compete at the National Finals in London.

 

1992 - The band play at the 4th Section National Finals at Wembley Conference Centre and are promoted to the 3rd Section

 

1993 - For the second year running the band qualify from the Midlands Area to play at the National Finals at Wembley.

 

1993 - The band play at the 3rd Section National Finals at Wembley Conference Centre.

 

 

2009 - The band finish third at the Midlands Area Championships in Bedworth playing Frank Hughes Talisman and qualify for the NATIONAL FINALS in Harrogate (Saturday 26th September 2009)
